Oh, darn, Hank, how did you know?
My mother wasn't exactly a railfan, but she did like trains. My brother and sister took her on a
wild-goose-chase from Oakridge to Chemult, Oregon, in pursuit of #4449 - back when I was a
volunteer on the AFT - so she could bring the crew a big crock of homemade lamb stew.
One of the highlights of her later years was riding on the
Rio Grande's executive car (the Kansas?) from San Luis Obispo to Los Angeles in 1992. She passed away at the tender age of 94.53 last year, and I'm tithing 10% of my small inheritance to support "Springtime in the Rockies" and the C&TS 40th Anniversary Celebration this year!
SO, all you Greenies - Thank my MOM!!

p.s. Here's three generations of foamette Locos - my Mom, my daughter Cindy, and Cindy's mom - at San Luis Obispo on September 13, 1992:
(Note that all three are wearing #2472 tee-shirts ... )
