Attached is the builder's photo (scanned from a book) of WP&YR Loco 51, now at the MacBride Museum. Also attached are 2 photos in more recent times (includes a "new" steel boiler). The key to telling is from Union Pacific Ry. Vol. 53, General Journal E (September 1889), Nebraska State Historical Society manuscripts. The Union Pacific sold only one Brooks narrow-gauge 2-6-0 that month, No. 80, originally U&N Ry. No. 23, the one in the photo. The Columbia & Puget Sound R.R. purchased only one loco that month, 2nd 3, which ended up as WP&YR 51.
Two months later, in November 1889, the Union Pacific again sold only one Brooks narrow gauge 2-6-0, No. 94. The Columbia & Puget Sound R.R. again purchased only one loco that month, 2nd 4, which ended up as WP&YR 52.
