I just noticed another thing which makes me even more certain that the photo you posted was
taken the same day as mine - August 29, 1968
: If you look at the left side of yours, you can
just barely make out "484" on the side of an engine cab, and #484 was #498's helper for that
very last eastbound freight
...
Here she is "fumigating" Antonito a few minutes before #498 departed for Alamosa

Also, I just noticed the gap in the boxcars behind the one being tied down. IIRC, the train of 14 carloads of lumber that left Chama picked up a flatcar (with possibly a boxcar in front of it) somewhere along the way, and this flatcar was the second car behind #498 in another of my photos:

p.s. Any idea who took the photo you posted? IIRC, Ernie Robart was there that day, but he hasn't published any copies that I'm aware of. Al Chione was probably there as well, and he used to sell duplicate slides - so maybe it's one of Al's.
