Hi, all -
Here's a trio of shots taken 09/08/2008 from above the (closed) road to the south side of The Whiplash -
Jay's train on the middle leg of the Whiplash, just beyond the trestle; note the upper leg above the train and below the rocky ledge
:
The Run-By
: Close, but no Cigar - Them Foamers just missed trespassing on Russo's Rock
* ... But that's O-K, I'm on the sunny side!
IIRC, the section house was in the flat area near the large trees
:
The east road to the lower loop looks O-K, but the crossings were pretty close to uncrossable back in 2009
:
It's only a little over a mile from the tail of the wye at Big Horn to the location where these were taken. At the tender age of 2/3 of a Century last year, I'm glad that I didn't see the "road closed" sign on the way in. But I could have hiked it if I'd have had to, and it should be a piece of cake for you young whippersnappers.

p.s. A couple of the passengers who saw me at Big Horn complained to Jay about there being a moocher in the woodpile. He told them about the "foamers fee" I had given him for a chaser's pass, and both Jay and Roger have downloads of ALL my shots for their use in promoting (future trips on) the C&TS ...
