As I said somewhere, If you weld a longitidinal stay in a beer can, you will ba absolutely amazed at the pressure the thing will hold.
Izzit safe? No, but it can survive a 150# hydro without leaking. That's why an internal visual inspection IMHO tells you a LOT more than a hydro.
In farm boilers like the Medina Case, the various handholes and clean out plugs are placed so a pretty thorough internal can be done (using a lamp and a mirror) without pulling the tubes or any other major invasive proceedures. Yes, Case boilers have a goodly sized handhole in the backhead (which is mostly uncluttered, unlike a locomotive) right above the crown, that's why I am puzzled that no one has come publically forward to say they had inspected it (as a potential buyer) when it was sold.
