There is a treasure trove over at Google / Life images.
Here are the instructions of how to find the photos:
1. Get away from the siginifcant other for about 6 hours
2. Go to Google
3. Click on "Images" at the upper left of the page.
4. About the middle of the page under the search box the following appears: " New! Search the newly digitized LIFE photo archive." Click on this.
5. In the search box "Search LIFE images" type in
San Juan Rail Road
6. Click "GO"

BOOM! Its 1950 on the
Shavano!!!
There are at least 10 pages of photos taken 01 April 1950 from, on and of the Shavano and environs.
Of all the bad stuff going on in the world right now, this is definitely one of the best bright spots.
