As promised some more photos. This time from 1996.
No.2 A 0-4-0 Tender locomotive built by Henschel in 1936.It was then painted in a very garish livery, possibly to match the casinos! In 2004 it was undergoing a major overall.
Of particular interest to me as a Brit is No.4 built by the British locomotive manufacturer Bagnall as a 0-4-4-0 Tank, it was originally supplied to the South African Sugar Estates in Natal, and was brought to Colorado to be restored. Any news on progress would be welcomed.
Finally a view of No.3 and train on the 'Million Dollar Fill' so named because that was the estimate of the worth of the gold ore used to build this embankment. With the price of gold today who knows, maybe the railroad should start digging it out!
