People get involved with some efforts to preserve history .Some people, though, are looking for turf ,power , identity ,etc. because they lack something in their personal lives . The media hypes up these stupid stories that make groups feel victimized because they can't be in on someone else's collateral profit . In fact ,the media has promoted this odd idea that cheap is good and the services and talents of others should be bargained down to nothing . Even us lazy nasty greedy artists are somehow horning in on their poor cause . Never mind the very hard work it takes to turn out a piece of art ! How easy an indiviual or group is to deal and reason with directly parallels the maturity of those involved. It takes all kinds , and their are plenty of characters , good bad and whatever in the railfan fellowship .
