It is now Lunch time.
The “Chama Cattle Company” could not prepare the lunches in time for our early departure. So the plan was to pick-up the lunches at the top of Cumbres Pass. Well… we stopped for water and then moved on to the sidings at Tangle foot for our first switching moves. More work to do at the “Ute” .
Erick Nelson was standing next to me and said to me one word:
“LUNCHES”!!! My next word I said, can't be said...
I ran all the way back to Cumbres to find the Chama Cattle Company Driver having a “siesta” in his truck. We quickly back the truck to Caboose O404 and unloaded the cargo.
As we left Ute, I was finally able to relax and enjoy the trip. Check out the view from the caboose as we role down grade..
