Are we surprised? C&T RR has not exactly been known to follow industry standards, or even their own rules! The use of markers is required by the C&T rulebook, however the wording clarifies they are optional if the crew is feeling sleepy.

D&S RR crews are on the ball. Every time I see a photo or video of a helper heading south or a test run heading north, there is a red flag or markers displayed.
