Classic Train On Trestle Shot

This iconic trestle shot was taken circa 1906 on the Sumpter Valley Ry. The location is the trestle below Alder Springs, which is on the timetable west side of Larch, so this train is headed up grade. This shot is shown on page 30 of "Rails Sagebrush and Pine" with the caption suggesting the engine is #5 recently renumbered from #1. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
