55 years ago today, Dec 5, 1967, Extra 493 heading west from Alamosa

The morning of December 5, 1967, found me meeting up with Ernie Robart in Alamosa for chasing Extra 493 West. I was a most happy camper. That dreaded call from the Air Force Officers Training School had not yet come, and I was free to chase the narrow gauge. In case the call did come, I decided to drive independently. Anyway, Ernie had a passenger (Jim Marcus from Ohio ?), and we ended up leap frogging each other much of the next two days, my blue VW beetle popping up in a number of his photos.
