The story on the mismatched tenders on 318 and 346 is correct. The people doing the measuring of 318 and 346 were from the manufacturer . At that time 346 had 318's tender and 318 had 346's The HOn3 models were from Key and were tender drive with an open frame motor. I have one and have replaced the motor. My 346 has 318's tender. Bob Richardson told me the story that there was a lack of communication with the measurers. (language barrier) Bob didn't have a lot of patience with people that got their facts wrong, but he chuckled over these guys and their screw up, although he did try to give them correct info. From what I've also heard, Wally Maxwell was also involved in this. Some of you out there remember him. That was over 50 years ago.
