I have ICC plans of the DSPP through Mt Princeton and since I've been working on creating the terrain for weeks , I have a good idea of where things are in this neck of the woods . The plans show the DSPP passing through Mt Princeton hot springs on the Mt Princeton side of the Chalk creek , with the first hot springs hotel on the opposite bank.
yet this image from 1885 shows the railroad on the
other side of the creek , and its not reversed as Mt Princeton and the chalk cliffs are behind the hotel and there are no large mountains of any kind if you look in the opposite direction. this would have involved the railroad crossing the creek twice, instead of the once indicated on the map and also on this opposite side of the creek there no room for the sidings indicated, the wye that existed here is not indicated on plans either .
This discrepancy between the ICC Map and the photos is doing my head it to a certain extent, am I reading this wrongly, or is it a possibility the track alignment was moved at some date ?
anyone got any info ?
