As we've discussed more than once, including here on the NGDF, I first met Ernie – and you – on the hillside overlooking the 'S' curves above Dalton in mid-August 1966, so it's very likely the two of us met and chatted a time or two in the open gon during the three days of that last Kiwanis charter.  I cannot remember anything specific, but Ernie did keep me posted on all of the efforts to Save the Narrow Gauge! for the next few years so we must have at least exchanged addresses.

IIRC, the weather was overcast and gloomy that weekend, which made shooting with Kodachrome challenging to say the least.  There are only four others I've ever even bothered to scan, all from the third day.  They've been posted previously here on The Forum but I couldn't find the thread, so see The Friend's Collection site starting at [ngtrainpics.photoshelter.com].
