According to the guys who work at Heron lake & dam, this past winter's snow pack was 102% of normal. This coming weekend summer monsoon rain is forecast and a fairly good amount predicted. That should get things nice and moist to reduce fire danger. This is early for summer rains.

What hasn't happened has been spring rain or slushy snow. And Spring isn't a heavy precipitation season.

Carson forest is in stage 3 restrictions. Rio Grande forest is stage 1. Chama to Osier goes through the Rio Grande forest. Carson ends south of Hwy 64 in Tierra Amarilla and north is private land until the state line. Most of the Carson forest is actually traveled on the other side of the line out of Antonito.

I'd think this upcoming precipitation pattern should help fill up any necessary tanks
