Busily going about her duties is narrow-gauge Denver & Rio Grande Western C-25 class "Consolidation" number 375. The outside-frame 2-8-0 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Work, construction number 21757, in 1903 for the Crystal River Railroad as their number 103. It was purchased by the Denver & Rio Grande in 1916 and renumbered to 432. In 1924 she was renumbered again and became the 375. The sturdy machine was photographed in Durango, Colorado on June 13, 1947. She would be retired and then scrapped in Alamosa, Colorado two years later.

If I remember right, there was a rumor that the railroad was so fed up with demands that they sell the locomotive for preservation that they just went ahead and cut it up for some peace and quiet.
