Re: West Side & Cherry Valley caboose

This caboose and the coach that was next to it were both really well built cars, probably on WSL flatcar frames. I recall tarps failing on them when I last saw them around 2010. A couple years prior some efforts were made to rehabilitate the coach for service with intentions on running on the line near Shingle Springs. I do not think the third rail has been installed yet in that area. Perhaps these cars and the Shay are still on the fairgrounds in Placerville. There was a narrow gauge boxcar sitting in a yard in Shingle Springs as well, perhaps former SPNG. Not sure what is going on with the El Dorado group these days.
