Thank You BOTH for the great photos — WAY more dramatic than any I got on an "ordinary" summer's day nearly 53 years ago.* IIRC, Lauterbrunnen is the village at the bottom of the canyon in Anthony's first photo and Olaf's photo immediately above, and the small hotel at the far left of Anthony's second photo is where we lesser players had rooms during the tournament in Wengen while the stars were given suites at the bigger hotel farther up the hill. As I mentioned above, there were no gasoline engines of any kind – especially no @#$%& leaf blowers – anywhere near Wengen, but thankfully they did have electric taxis – sorta like oversize golf carts IIRC – to haul us and our luggage up the steep hills from the railroad depot to our housing.
