Record setting ridership continues on the D&S this year and yesterday's Cascade train required helper service between Hermosa and Rockwood. This long train, and tomorrow's, were scheduled weeks ago when it was assumed we would use coal burning 481 but since we are still choosing to hold off running 481, 480 is our only serviceable oil burner at the moment. Alco 101 was called out to assist.

It worked well and will be repeated tomorrow, fear not as 482 will likely be available in early December for any additional doubleheaders.
As an aside, these two double headers are numbers 130 and 131 so far in 2021. 117 of those occured during the Silverton season including a 45 consecutive day stretch at one point.
