During the night of October 1 to October 2 it snowed in the high narrow gauge country. In mid-morning of Saturday, October 1 the snowy high peaks still had a good amount of snow as the 487 and 484 double header approached Lobo Lodge with 12 cars in tow.
Not unexpectedly, the sun had melted a good part of the snow cover by the time the RGS 20 and 455 double header passed here. Nevertheless it is a clear reminder that the seemingly endless Indian Summer is over and winter is not that far away.
