Last train photos always evoke bitter sweet emotions. This one taken by Earl Emlaw on July 8th, 1947 on the Sumpter Valley Ry. is certainly one of those. He took a number of shots along the line as he paced the train by road on its way from Baker to Bates. In this shot, the train headed by eng. 251 is about to enter Boulder Gorge.
