Log Train Pile Up With Disconnects

How'd you like the job of unscrambling this mess? It is likely that this wreck occurred on the Baker White Pine Lbr. Co.'s logging railraod. Baker White Pine was one of the companies with a narrow gauge logging railroad in the Sumpter country of N.E. Oregon. Notice that beside the flat car, there are a number of disconnect (no pun intended) trucks in the mix. Loggers using disconnect trucks could not utilize air brakes, with the trucks having a hand brake only. Perhaps this pile up was the result of a runaway related to insufficient hand brakes set. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
