NCO Ry acquires and moves another car

The dedicated team at the N-C-O Ry. just completed a successful move of Nevada-California-Oregon boxcar 518 this weekend. A former Florence & Cripple Creek car purchased by the N-C-O in 1915, the boxcar was donated by Betty Smith and daughter Tracy.

Thanks to the help of Fernand Larranaga's guidance, and his truck and trailer, we were successful in moving the boxcar to our storage area where it will avoid another harsh Alturas winter. Preservation work will begin this fall to get the car cleaned up and documented for future restoration.
