Terry 'n all,
Yes, there is Baker Tank, Timberline Tank, ant the base of Midway Tank. There was also the base of the tank at Grants, the remainder of the base at Crossons (recently removed by Forest Fire). I'm not sure, but does French gulch Tank still exist on the high line? It did up until a few years ago. And if you go to the site of Alpine Tunnel station, you can see the remains of the tank inside the engine house.
Actually, if you look at Baker Tank, you are seeing the tank from two locales. Baker Tank was originally built to replace the tank destroyed by the engine house fire at Alpine Tunnel station and was moved t Boreas Pass after the tunnel closed. When I was up at Alpine Tunnel in the early 1960's on a church camp outing (we hiked in from Hancock), the remains of the insulation around the frost box on the tank remained at the site where the replacement tank was built. For you modelers, yes the frost box was enclosed, much like they did in Canada and the Northwest US.
To further clarify, Timberline tank was restored by the Mile High Jeep Club. I have no idea where the spout went, as Helmers shows it hanging there prior to the restoration.
