In order to prepare 425 for a better run up Cumbres pass for the night train, another crew member and I worked all afternoon cleaning out this dirt and fine coal that was accidentally dumped into 425s tender the day before when she was needed to help bring the wood burners down the hill. I'm sure someone can detail the problems that occur when attempting to fire with this stuff. On the Night train she performed much better than the night before on the dinner train, as if 168s eccentric strap problems wasn't enough fun...
