I think you misunderstood my question. "Imitation gold" is not gold leaf, but just plain yellow paint designated as the replacement or substitution by Baldwin and many railroads in place of gold leaf. Perhaps it's actually Chrome yellow by a different name, but it appears in D&RG and Baldwin paint records under the title "imitation gold."
