I can do something similar in a video editing program. If I shot is crooked on a tripod or poorly hand-held, you can rotate the video clip right or left. This will leave a gap on two corners. Then you can change the aspect ratio(Make the whole clip bigger) fill the frame with image only. Its best not to rotate more than 1-2 degrees otherwise you have to enlarge too much and picture quality might suffer, especially on old movie film clips. I have used it on more contemporary stuff and nobody is the wiser.
