The Mikados don't normally stop for water at Hermosa, but that's not to say they don't at all. When the D&S attaches a helper to a train at Hermosa both Locomotives will top off at the steel tank before continuing up the grade. In years past when the D&S does Polar Express events and has a cascade train the same day, they'll have the locomotive top off the tender on the return trip before making it back to Durango. I think all visiting locomotives in the past have had to stop there for water as well due to their smaller size.
