When shooting NS stuff you better have good sun that's for sure. One of the best shots I ever got on the trestle at Batavia was a 4-unit Union Pacific runthrough reflected in the river. Just wish it had been steam.
Speaking of broad gauge don't forget Spain is broad-guage also. I shot some really black Renfe steam in 1972. Didn't look too good on an overcast day. They ran in Pamplona on days the bulls didn't! Boy was that some great sangrea!
