I have long had an intense desire to visit New Zealand, Guy -

Greatly enhanced by the "How We Made The Movie" sequences on the supplemental CDs that came with the special edition of 'Lord of the Rings'.  In my imagination NZ seems sorta like a lower-key, English-speaking version of Switzerland, a bit more open and untamed, and a lot less crowded.  My plan, when I escaped my cubicle prison on Bastille Day, 2006, was to be in New Zealand by October or November (Springtime in the Aunt Ypœdies), take part in one of those tours where one rides from village to village on a bicycle but one's gear is hauled in a van, and then return to my favorite places for longer stays, eventually heading home (via Ireland) from a few to several months later.   Six weeks after retiring, I was back in hospital for one week each month 'til early 2007 undergoing chemo for non-Hodgekins lymphoma . . .

Not likely now that I'll make it to New Zealand, but I love seeing all the beautiful photos that Chris and others post here!   Especially the Goats!   Thank You!!
