I see on the DSNGRR website, that they are now advertising a Silverton Diesel Train and a Silverton Steam Train. Is that simply due to the drought/fire situation and or a lack of availability of oil-fired steam engines (they have 3, plus SP 18), or is the plan for the first departure of the day to be diesel going forward? I was always under the assumption that steam would continue to be the primary power on the line and that the diesels were intended as back-ups, to keep the operation running if/when the use of steam was restricted due to fire concerns. It would seem odd that the railroad would maintain a fleet of 7 steam locomotives if the plan was to regularly use the diesels in the future.
