The good old days on the C&TS and D&S

When the DRGW ended freight operations in 1969 there were still a lot of places on the ng. I had never gotten to much less photographed. But then the C&TS and D&S stepped in with many years of great phraudo freights to help me fill those gaps. This is one of my favorites from the 2015 HTP charter.
As costs have climbed and clientele have changed, I wonder how much of this will continue. Here is a link to a small album of my favorite phraudo freight pix from over the years (starting in 1972):

Both the C&TS and D&S are wonderful time machines, but I wonder if we will see any of these really big trains again.
