Hello again -
I started to work on revising the '2' and the '5' to better resemble their shapes when applied to D&RG #425 in the late teens, but notorious nit-picker that I am noticed it wasn't quite full size (less than a full 24" tall) and the arm of the "nose" hit the top a bit to the left of perfect alignment with the edge of the vertical "trunk", so I spent a couple of hours making tweaks that only a rivet counter would probably notice, but anyway
. . .
Here, for all to see and comment on, is the Final, Fully-Touched-Up, Full-Size at 200 dpi, Numeral Four — ready for Dave to upload and cut for use on the "#425"

Here's a smaller, lo-res version so you can see the whole enchilada without scrolling

. . . and here it is with the
corrected '2' and '5' so you can get a rough idea of what "#425" would look like with immy-tation gold numbering

p.s. Every digit in the Railroad Roman typeface (and in the Engravers' Roman from which it was developed) is a slightly different width, ranging from 18½" for the '1' and 21¼" for the '8' to 25¾" for the '0' when enlarged to 24" tall. The winner, with its schnoz even more prominent than Willie's, is the '4' at a whopping 26¼", but the above version – based closely of the clear photo of loco #174 – came out to just ¾" over our 18" target width — plenty close enough to what the '2' and '5' will be when narrowed to 80% of their "native" width.
