I've had some time lately to catch up on posting video I've shot. Granted this is five years old now, but figured most everyone here would enjoy watching an awesome pacing shot of the 611 wide open climbing out of Danville (that wasn't shot with a cell phone) and a separate audio track to eliminate the wind noise driving down the highway. Have a cocktail and check it out when you have a few minutes.
Side note: The 750 and 611 got me into steam engines, and ultimately getting to work for the D&S, C&TS, Dollywood, Georgetown Loop, WP&YR, and TVRM. I never thought the 611 would run again so it was cool to get a few shots with it on the few excursions it made when I wasn't working on the extra board in Skagway. On these trips, the train always stopped in Danville to switch out EMT personnel as they crossed the state line because I believe their licenses are limited to their own state. I sincerely doubt we'll see a mainline steam program like this ever again, so I'm glad I caught what I could and got to see a nice show out of Danville as the cherry on top. The next day they ran to Asheville and back, just before Norfolk Southern downgraded the line to 25 MPH. I've got video of that as well and will post it when I have time.
Enjoy.
