I’m going to repaint the locomotive’s smokebox tomorrow (will take pictures), and I like your idea about painting the locomotive green again. However, the original boiler jacket was scrapped when the asbestos was removed around 2005, and to add on, the paint for the smokebox is something that us volunteers are paying out of our own pockets. The depot is severely underfunded, and the city of Marshall and Amtrak help our case by doing absolutely nothing.
