Gordon and I both worked for the National Park Service. We both shared a huge interest in post cards of the narrow gauges. He also had a big interest in military history of the west.

When he came to visit us and our cats he used to tell stories of K.Itty the cat at the Colorado Railroad Museum. The cat lived a very long life maybe 16 years. Gordon lived in an apartment on California street which did not allow pets; so he came to us for cat fixes.

Way back in 1972/3 he was Acting Director of the Colorado Railroad Museum when Bob Richardson went down to Mexico to get the Thunder Lake #7 which he traded for the South Park #191 which was at Rhinestedler, Wisconsin. It was winter in the north country. Moving locomotives must have been difficult!
