You bet! This thread is all about rendering for NGDF; rendering for any other purpose has it's own considerations about resolution, and also tone and color.
Anymore, I shoot raw-only for everything, including family snapshots. I have a well-hammered workflow that quickly batch-processes them to proof JPEGs of small size, right now I use 800x600 for this. If I later need a rendition for another purpose, I'll re-open the raw file, apply the proof processing, and go from there; e.g., remove the small-resize for printing TIFFs.
ANY rendition starts with the raw file. Took a while to get the software and file organization to do this, but it now works like a treat.
