One of the boxcars was located right next to County Road 730, locally known as "Ohio Creek Road," on a cattle ranch. I suspect the second car (with the peaked roof) was elsewhere on the ranch. Ohio Creek Road is about 6 miles north of downtown Gunnison on Highway 135. The ranch is about 4 miles up that road. The road roughly parallels the old DSP&P right-of-way northwest of Gunnison. I have attached a Google Satellite screen shot. The road goes far up into the West Elk Mountains and is worth the drive for the spectacular scenery. We took the dog on a road trip up there a couple of times a year when we lived in Gunnison. Every time I drove past the boxcar, I thought "someone needs to save it." Good to know it happened.
