Not sure if I’m allowed to say this or not but the plan is to only run to 32nd street and back. The North Pole is located behind the museum and a lot of the operations will be similar to how the old D&S events like day out with Thomas ran, primarily to make the event covid safe. The shortened run time and the longer consists are to decrease possible exposure risks, spreading passengers out more to 50% or 20% capacity and decreasing the amount of time onboard within the coaches, and the locomotives on each end make up for the return trip and not having a wye to turn around on. They have put a lot of thought into how to make the event work this year, major props to them. Rail events inc. is also way more involved this year with the D&S and a lot more work is being done to add more show performance to the overall experience as well.

This is the first time a coal fired engine has run in Durango since last February.
