I'm a brakeman on the Chehalis-Centralia RR and museum in WA state and our governor just killed any such activities until December 14. This has killed many of our PE trains, to the point we might run them after Christmas (as we'll be the only option in the entire region for a PE experience).
That is, of course, if the partial shutdown doesn't extend past 12-14-20, which many of us think will happen. It's going to be painful for us as that was one of our biggest revenue sources for the year.
I wonder what the landscape for tourist and museum RRs is going to be like when the pandemic finally subsides. It's not going to look good compared to pre-2020, I'd bet.
All that said, unlike some, I think this was needed as I've been seeing fewer and fewer people wearing masks in public in the area of the RR. I was in Wal-Mart over the weekend and saw two people who were clearly very sick, both coughing and hacking with open mouths, with their masks carefully placed to protect their chins and nothing else.
People on the trains at Chehalis ask when they get on board if they need to wear masks, standing in front of signs stating they need to, as if they didn't know the answer already.
People simply aren't taking this seriously.

This is the first time a coal fired engine has run in Durango since last February.
