Re: Water Tank at East Mancos

I'm making progress but still in a wheel chair. It was a long day, starting at 7 am in Silverton with us home by 8 pm, one bathroom break. My partner, Loren, just loads me up in his truck and off we go. Kent, who represented the owner of the land, is mainly responsible for the East Mancos tank.

The insulators we used were new ceramic strain insulators, nothing historic or fancy. I was impressed that the tank was mainly intact with only the ladder and water spout missing. Previous owners had applied the plywood roof over mainly intact rafters. The soffit wood is mainly intact. My first contact with the RGS was in 1957 between Telluride and Rico when we were able to find Jeffrey spikes in one section of roadbed next to the highway. So it has been a 63 year affair.
