Many of the Antonito Friends volunteers try to get cabins at Mogote Meadows. There's only 3, I think, but worth trying. The owners are good people, and I've stayed in the campground many times. Conejos Ranch is probably high-end, but a nice setting. We had a Friends board meeting there once, and my family stayed the weekend. Last December, I found the Steam Train Hotel in Antonito nice, but I was warned to watch where I parked. Others stayed at the Indiana Jones B&B, and apparently liked it. Yeah, I also stayed at the other place in town.
I've also tried the Alamosa + commute. The one thing you should watch for is that on weekends, demand is high for rooms in that town, and the rooms are priced accordingly. By dropping a Friday night stay, I found the price for the room the other nights dropped $30/a night.
