Don't know the answer to your question, and it might be hard to know for sure. Who knows what they do for cleanliness. Maybe check yelp or other places for that info.
You might want to consider staying in Alamosa, just 28 miles north. More motels, including a couple of chains, and more places to eat. You might have to budget 30-45 minutes extra for the drive but its an easy drive along the SG line to Antonito. Or, you might consider staying in Chama, and make the roughly 1 hour drive to Antonito in the morning. Just another option. Am sure Chama lodging is in need of patrons this year.
