Some additional thoughts to the post by Tony K

When 455 had its second wreck, her "new" tender was damaged and 455 received 452's tender for what I think was the rest of her career (not sure of the wreck date). During the scrapping of the RGS, 42 carried 452's tender as a reserve water tank.

Some of this lines up with the 452 OS report. Not sure how often the crews would want to re attach a tender, but food for thought....
