In my first posting on this thread I gave a length of 110 miles for the Seward Peninsula Railroad, a number I heard in Nome in 1993. Re-reading the story in the 1969 Colorado Rail Annual, a number of different lengths are given, but the most credible seems to be 90 miles from Nome to Shelton during the steam era. After the railroad was purchased by the Federal Board of Road Commissioners for Alaska a six mile branch to Bunker Hill was added, bringing the total mileage to about 96. This does not include some branch trackage in the Nome area that the attached map does not show, as it represents the era of state ownership, the era of " pupmobiles" and the motorized version " putmobiles".
