As was discussed here only a couple of months ago, S.P. and D&RGW very nearly merged back before WWII, and serious discussions were underway regarding skyline casings (but NOT skirts) for the Silverton Daylight. The second order for 'Sports Model' 2-8-2's from Alco - the semi-streamlined and thus slightly heavier K-29's - would undoubtedly have been equipped with mars lights, offset just to the right of the front-mounted air pump.
