The 463 still had the A-1/G-6 set up before it got rebuilt in Chama. To this day Rotary OY has the same set up.
On the tender there is a retainer valve as well as a bleed-off cock attached to the tender brake brake cylinder. The emergency brake valve was located on the back wall of the cab.
When 464 became the Durango switcher and got converted to 6ET air, the retainer was removed from the tender and an emergency brake valve was plumbed onto the corner of the tank. It probably had one on the back wall of the cab as the cab mounted valve was a federal requirement. If you look at later pics of her you will notice the pipe running up the side of the tender is much bigger (as in brake pipe diameter) that the pipe the was the tender brake bleed off.
