Yep, that's a pretty picture! Got to love the old water tank cars. Supplying water to Dragon, Watson, and Rainbow every day. I'm assuming that they were coupled on here. Empties would have been dragged back up the line to Wendella wye, and dropped off at the water tank there to be filled up and left for the next train to bring them back down to Dragon again.gravity fed from the cars, into an underground cistern, and then pumped up to the tank on the hill. This then was piped down to the stand pipe to fill the engines. Since the company had to pay to pump the water to the tank on the hill, residents (there was no water service to the houses) were required to hand pump their water out of the cistern and take residential water back to their houses in buckets! This was a social gathering every day, as anybody who needed water gathered around the pump.
