Rebuilding

Danger...soap box time.
I'm not against rebuilding the whole darn railroad, let's throw in old La Veta, mule shoe, and the RGS just to make certain we're ambitious enough. If Ed gets his particular dream, we'll built an entirely new branch from near Cresco to Pagosa and power it with Garretts built out of the 490 hulks. Why not? Dreaming is okay.
But every time I look at just the C&TS I see enough work to keep an army going for the next century. The coaling tower needs to have the pulley jacked up and a new structure built underneath it, snow sheds need to be rebuilt, not to mention telegraph lines, roundhouse, the station at Cumbres, the Big Horn enunciator, Lava tank, pipeline and pump house, the coaling dock at Osier, real passenger car trucks, snow fences, rebuild the original Antonito station into an operating base, and that's ignoring all the stuff the Friends already are doing....the historic fleet, the existing buildings, ad nauseum. And others can add to this list, just between MP 280 and MP 345.
I'm probably prejudiced, but I dream about what the C&TS could be if we really focus on making it right.
